Christmas Cards

I love Christmas card season. I love sending them and I love receiving them. This year though, I have received the ultimate Christmas card from my dear friend Karen Brooks (no relation, that we’ve figured out yet anyway!)  by which all future Christmas cards will be measured.

It wasn’t the first cat-Christmas card that I have ever received. In fact, I have two on my little ledge right now. This one was particularly special, though, because it so embraced the cheese with nothing short of a 4×6 pornish-glossy of a close-up of Lucky the cat’s face with some gold bling around the neck. Inside read a message about how yes, she is that person that sends Christmas cards with her cat’s picture, yadda yadda yadda, signed off with a simple “you’re welcome.” Love it. Not a single “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays” or any of that jazz.

In other, completely unrelated thoughts, did anyone hear that story on the CBC yesterday morning about how the children of Gaza started protesting against the adults of Gaza who were (violently?) protesting the murder of three children of a non-Hamas Palestinian official?
