What a lovely way to spend an evening.

The new Capital City Music Hall, while smaller, leaves the audience with a much greater sense of personal safety than did the former, decrepit, venue. Amazing what not watching the rafters for falling objects can do to add to the enjoyment of the show. Maybe Feist wasn't so irritating after all…

But I digress.

The Weakerthans (a name which apparently cannot be said without somehow mentioning that they're from Winnipeg) definitely play some good music – good for an audience varying from people wanting to jump around to others just wanting to sit around. What made it all the more enjoyable was the fact that Lawrence had so kindly made us a "Weakerthans Crash Course" mixed cd so we could get a little more into the show. That being said, their music is so pleasing to the ear that I think I could have enjoyed it never having heard a single one of their songs before.

Looking forward to the next one…
